Rectangular stoneware vase with rounded shoulders and characteristic hand-decorated glaze in blue, beige, and brown tones from Thorsson’s Baca series. Decorated in relief with abstract, nature-inspired motifs typical of Thorsson’s artistic expression during the period.

Origin: Denmark.

Bio:
Nils Thorsson (1898–1975) was one of Royal Copenhagen’s leading designers, responsible for iconic series such as Baca and Tenera, which combined industrial forms with artistic decoration. His works are distinguished by experimental glazes and intricate, nature-inspired patterns. Today, Thorsson’s ceramics are regarded as emblematic of Danish modernist design.
