Handmade ceramic wall plaque featuring a relief motif of a stylised horse in characteristic brown, blue and white glaze tones. Typical of Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker’s expressive and geometric design language, where animal figures and abstract forms merge in a vivid interplay of colour and texture.

Bio:
Helmut Friedrich Schäffenacker (1921–2010) was a German ceramic artist and sculptor educated in Ulm. His works from the 1950s to 1970s are internationally recognised for their modernist forms and experimental glaze work. Schäffenacker established his own studio in Ulm, producing a wide range of ceramic reliefs, wall plaques, and sculptural objects that are today considered iconic examples of German studio ceramics.
